TinyFines is a habit tracker your friends can see. This page says plainly what we keep, why, who sees it, and how to delete it.
Who we are
TinyFines is run by Ondřej Vereš, under the name Nexgea, in the Czech Republic. He's responsible for your data (the "controller"). Write to support@tinyfines.com about anything on this page.
What we store
Your account
You can start without an account: the app makes an anonymous one, with no name or email. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we keep your name as your friends see it and your email address. TinyFines shares accounts and friends with our apps StrictDNS and ScrollBump.
Your habits
Each habit you add: its name, description, icon and colour, how often it's due, its goal or limit, its reminder time, and every day you tick it or log a slip, with any notes you write on a day. Missed days are recorded when a day's grace is over.
Apple Health
If you link a habit to Apple Health (mindful minutes, steps, workouts, exercise minutes, stand hours, active energy, walking distance or water), the app reads that one kind of data on your iPhone or iPad, for today and yesterday only. It saves only the day's total on that habit, like "12 min", the same as if you had typed it. Nothing else from Health leaves your device, nothing is written to Health, and Health data is never used for advertising, sold, or shared with anyone but the friends who see that habit. You can turn access off any time in the Health app.
Friends, fines and sponsors
Who your friends are, and the invitations you send. Fines and sponsored days between you and a friend, the payments you log ("I paid") and whether they were confirmed, and the sponsorships you give or get. If you add an IBAN or Revolut username, we keep it so your friends can pay you. Money itself never goes through TinyFines.
Notifications
The news we send you (a friend's miss, a fine, a sponsored day, a payment to confirm). To push it, we keep a token for each of your devices, and whether notifications are on there. Habit reminders are scheduled on your device.
What we don't collect
No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking, no location. The app doesn't send usage statistics.
Why, and on what legal basis
To provide TinyFines: your account, habits, friends, fines, sponsors and notifications are the service you sign up for, so the basis is our contract with you. Reading Apple Health happens only after you turn it on for a habit and allow it, so the basis there is your consent, which you can take back in the Health app.
Who can see it
- You, always.
- Your friends see your habits and every day of them, their notes and descriptions, the changes you make, and the fines and sponsorships between you and them. A private habit is yours alone: friends don't see it, or anything about it.
- The friend you owe sees your fines to them; your IBAN or Revolut username is shown only to your friends.
- No one else. We don't sell your data, show ads, or share it for marketing.
Who runs it for us
- Google Firebase stores your account and habits, and sends notifications.
- Apple and Google deliver push notifications and handle signing in with them.
- Cloudflare hosts this website.
Some of them are based in the United States, so your data may be processed there, under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
While you use TinyFines. Archiving a habit keeps its history (your friends still see it); deleting your account erases it.
Deleting your account
Use Delete Account under Account in the app. Every habit, tick, note, fine, sponsorship and payment record is erased, your friendships end (your friends are told), and your device tokens are removed. Your account is shared with StrictDNS and ScrollBump, so it ends there too. You can also ask us to erase your data at support@tinyfines.com.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, erase it, limit how we use it, or receive it in a portable format, and you can take back consent any time. Write to support@tinyfines.com; we answer within a month. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the Czech Republic that's the Office for Personal Data Protection (uoou.gov.cz), or the one where you live.
Children
TinyFines is for people 16 and over (15 in the Czech Republic), or younger with a parent's agreement, since fines are between friends and involve money.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle your data in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before it applies.
